Adaptive Competition at Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is the largest NCAA conference with approximately 250 member colleges and universities. Among other roles, the ECAC conducts championship competitions in swimming and track & field. At its 2017 Open Swimming Championships (Feb 24-26) and at the IC4A/ECAC DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 12-14), the ECAC will include Championship events for student-athletes with Paralympic-eligible impairments. This will mark the first time champions will be crowned in Para-swimming or Para-athletics events by an NCAA conference.
Student athletes competing in adaptive events at ECAC Championships must be NCAA-certified and must have met the requisite qualifying standards for each event entered. All other provisions for entry into the respective competition also apply.
