WHAT: PSC BOSTON SWIM TEAM is weekly swim training, structured competition, and support of Para swimmers and their coaches.
WHEN: Sundays, September 30–December 16, 2018; 12:30-2:00 PM (see detailed schedule)
WHERE: Keohane Athletic Center Pool, Wellesley College
WHO: The PSC Boston Swim Team Program is for swimmers who:
- have either a physical or visual impairment
- can safely and comfortably swim 50 yards without aids or assistance
- can participate independently in group training with multi-step instructions
- are interested in competitive swimming (including distance/triathlons)
- swim at least 3 times per week (including 1 with PSC Boston)
HOME CLUB/TEAMS
Many PSC Boston swimmers will be members of community swim clubs/teams or members of school or college teams. PSC Boston will help swimmers identify capable and welcoming clubs as necessary. Swimmers will follow their home team’s training program and will compete for that team at most meets including MIAA, NE Swimming, and Masters Swimming meets.
COST
The full cost of the program is $360 for the 10-week fall session. Many swimmers will qualify for a discounted rate. Please inquire with Adaptive Sports NE staff prior to registration.
Swimmers are also responsible for the cost of equipment, home club fees, meet fees, and membership in New England Swimming or US Masters Swimming if required.
Learn to Swim
Individuals who are unable to safely and comfortably swim 50 yards but who fit the other program criteria may contact PSC Boston for assistance finding a local Learn to Swim program.
