OUR 2026 RUNNERS
Sarah Leonard
Sarah is a native of Somerset, MA and proud member of the Adaptive Sports New England (ASNE) community. As a physical therapist, Sarah spent her career focused primarily in spinal cord rehabilitation, before becoming an ATP for a national complex rehabilitation supplier. However, those who know Sarah would tell you that her favorite part of her career has been the 13 years spent volunteering as a coach within the adaptive sports space. While she has long served as a wheelchair rugby coach, helping to develop athletes across the country, Sarah comes to Adaptive Sports New England (ASNE) in support of the adult wheelchair football and wheelchair basketball programs. As a coach, her passion for sports and dedication to her athletes is undeniable, but most importantly, she serves as a mentor, committed to each individuals growth and development beyond the game. As part of ASNE’s Boston Marathon Team, Sarah’s goal is to inspire each of her athletes to continue to push the limits of what they believe to be possible; she’s not a runner, but she’ll “gladly” take on the 26.2 miles to raise awareness and support of every member of the ASNE family.
Kristen Casselberry
Hi y’all! My name is Kristen, and I’m excited to share that I am raising funds for Adaptive Sports New England Inc. I will be running the 2026 Boston Marathon through them and I am so so excited for this opportunity. Adaptive Sports’ mission is to provide incredible opportunities for youth and young adults with visual and mobility impairments to allow them to engage in sports. Their mission is close to my heart because as many of you already know, I am a Pediatric-DNP student hoping to eventually specialize in pediatric palliative care which is all about allowing children to have a great quality of life and getting to truly be their age while going through incredible medical hardships. The challenges that I see individuals face on a day-to-day is truly unfair and I hate to think that these individuals feel like losing their mobility or their sight may make it so that they can never do their favorite activity again. Adaptive Sports New England helps empower these individuals to participate and thrive in their chosen activity and can continue to do so with your help!
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference in providing necessary resources and support. Together, we can help change lives through the power of adaptive sports! Thank you for considering supporting this amazing cause!

I volunteer with the Adaptive Sports New England swim team every Sunday, where I have the opportunity to work with swimmers of all abilities—a role I’ve loved since moving to Boston in January 2025. During my master’s program, I also worked with several adaptive swim programs around the country, which helped spark my passion for inclusive sports. I currently work at OrthoPediatrics Specialty Bracing at Boston Children’s Hospital as a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist. I swam competitively for 14 years through college, and I also love running (and any other form of activity)—I’ve done a marathon, a few half marathons, and even a triathlon! When I’m not working, volunteering, or working out, you can usually find me reading, crafting, or watching baseball (go Nationals!).

Running the Boston Marathon for Adaptive Sports New England will be my 16th overall marathon and a significant milestone—it will also secure my 6th World Major Star .
Growing up on a farm as one of eleven children, I learned firsthand how sports build work ethic, teamwork, and confidence. I was introduced to Adaptive Sports New England by family in the Boston area and was immediately inspired by their mission. I believe everyone, regardless of visual or mobility disabilities, should have the opportunity to experience the physical and emotional benefits of participating in sports. I am proudly running and fundraising to ensure Adaptive Sports New England can continue providing these life-changing opportunities.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference in providing necessary resources and support. Together, we can help change lives through the power of adaptive sports! Thank you for considering supporting this amazing cause!

I am thrilled to be running the 2026 Boston Marathon for Adaptive Sports New England!
Adaptive Sports New England opens doors for youth and adults across New England with mobility and visual impairments to participate in sports. I believe deeply that everyone deserves access to the many benefits that sports provide—confidence, teamwork, community, and joy that extend far beyond the playing field.
Running Boston has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t be more honored to do it for this cause. My three children, Audrey, Chloe, and Finn, are my inspiration every step of the way. Chloe has personally benefited from Adaptive Sports New England’s programs, and seeing the impact firsthand has made me passionate about creating these opportunities for more young people.
I’m also very grateful to my husband Jamie for his support throughout my training.
I greatly appreciate your support!
We have found our passionate runners who ready to take on the marathon—not just for the finish line, but to make a lasting impact by raising funds that truly change lives
