Keep Moving Forward - Jon Brace

This past Thursday, over 300 racers came out from all over The state of Massachusetts to race in the Martin Richard Memorial mile. The race, now in it’s fourth year, was started  to promote Martin Richard’s message of Peace as well as raise money for Youth Enhancement Services, an organization Martin ran with regularly.

In addition to being a phenomenal event, 2017 proved to be the largest year for the adaptive category, with 15 athletes racing in the adaptive 400 m and four racers in the wheelchair mile. Participants included names such as Katrina Gerhard, a member of the University of Illinois para track program and Chris Kimball, an upcoming freshman on the track and field and cross country teams at Nichols College. Both Katrina and Chris showed up with their A game, posting impressive times in their respective events.
