Adaptive Sports New England’s Sport Club programs unite youth with visual or mobility impairments to build athletic skills and confidence in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. Led by Paralympic medalists and other experienced coaches, these programs offer specialized training that emphasizes personal growth, peer connection, and athletic development. Designed to complement school and community-based sports participation, the Sport Club programs are open to athletes of all skill levels and are intended for youth with typical social and cognitive development.
SWIM TEAM
The Adaptive Sports New England swim team meets weekly, uniting competitive swimmers from across the region. Many athletes also train with club or school swim programs, enhancing their development and experience. Led by Paralympic medalists Mike Prout and Anna Johannes, the team benefits from personalized coaching that emphasizes technical refinement and mental preparation, helping each swimmer reach their full potential.
SWIM LESSONS
Adaptive Sports New England’s swim lesson program is offered in partnership with the Hale Family YMCA and Simmons University. Overseen by Paralympian Michael Prout, the lessons are taught by experienced YMCA instructors and skilled Simmons University swimmers. With a one-on-one student-to-instructor ratio, the program provides a supportive and personalized environment where children can build confidence and improve their swimming skills.
ROWING WITH COMMUNITY ROWING, Inc.
Adaptive Sports New England’s rowing program is proudly offered in collaboration with Community Rowing, Inc. at their state-of-the-art boathouse in Brighton, along the scenic Charles River. Designed specifically for teens, this year-round para rowing program offers the thrill of on-water training in a variety of boats during the warmer months, and transitions to high-quality indoor sessions at the Community Rowing facility during winter. It’s a unique opportunity for young athletes to build strength, skill, and camaraderie in an inclusive and empowering environment.
WHEELCHAIR TRACK
Adaptive Sports New England’s track program meets weekly, providing athletes with expert coaching focused on enhancing racing techniques and overall performance. Currently held on Saturday mornings at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, the program features wheelchair track. Program participants may be everyday wheelchair users or may have other lower body mobility impairments and must have good use of both arms as well as typical cognitive and behavioral development. It’s an inclusive and supportive environment where athletes can grow, compete, and thrive.
WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL
Offered in partnership by Adaptive Sports New England and Franciscan Children’s, the wheelchair basketball program welcomes youth ages 5 to 21 for weekly sessions focused on skill-building, teamwork, and fun. Running throughout the fall, winter, and spring, the program combines structured drills with lively pick-up games, giving athletes the opportunity to learn and enjoy the sport in a supportive environment. To fully participate, athletes should have strong use of their arms and upper bodies.
WHEELCHAIR FOOTBALL CLINIC

Join Northeast Passage and Adaptive Sports New England for a Wheelchair Football Clinic at the John W Foley Community Center in Rochester, NH!
This clinic will allow participants of all ages and abilities to experience the sport of wheelchair football. There will be an introduction to the sport and warm-up led by members of the NE Patriots Wheelchair Football Team. Following the warm-up, there will be a rotation of station drills and a scrimmage.
Participants are welcome to utilize their own wheelchairs or may elect to use one of the sport wheelchairs provided by Northeast Passage.

Beep baseball is an exciting adaptation of traditional baseball, where a beeping ball and buzzing bases help players navigate the field using sound. It’s a fast-paced, empowering sport that promotes physical activity, confidence, and teamwork in an inclusive setting.
Adaptive Sports New England’s beep baseball team, the Boston Strong, offers a dynamic opportunity for individuals who are blind or visually impaired to learn and enjoy the game. Open to both youth and adults, the program is designed to be fun, accessible, and welcoming—no prior experience needed.

The USAWFL is the first-ever national football league designed for adult athletes with disabilities, offering a fast-paced, highly competitive environment where players can push their limits and reach their full potential.
